Let It Snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.

The first thing we did when we arrived in Utah for Christmas, was play in the snow! Since it snowed the entire time we were there, we had plenty of opportunities to take advantage of all that snow. The kids were so excited for snow, especially Logan. They had so much fun sledding, making snow angels, building snowmen with me, and constructing an igloo with their dad.

We had a blast sledding down the side of Mom's house into the field. Growing up, we always played in the field when it snowed. It was a perfect place for Dad to pull us sledding behind the 3-wheeler. Do they make those anymore? Hmmm . . . that dates me.

3 Kids Very Excited For Santa!

We look forward to our ward Christmas party every year. It's so much fun to get together with our friends for dinner and the kids love to see santa and tell him what they want for Christmas.

Not So Silent Night Concert

Are we too old to go to concerts? Not yet! We had so much fun with our good friends the Barlows at the Not So Silent Night concert last month. It was an all night event starting at 4 PM with six bands playing. We missed the first band and caught the tail end of the second act, but enjoyed the tunes of the next four bands: Metro Station, Gavin Degraw, Boys Like Girls, and Blue October. My feet were killing me by the end of the night from standing and jumping so long, (Note to self: do not wear high heeled boots to an all night concert) but it was worth the fun Mike and I had at the concert! It was fun to do something we don't normally do for a date, and the music was great. Boys Like Girls is one of my favorite bands and Blue October's sound was amazing. Metro Station struggled, and we were pleasantly surprized by what a great show Gavin Degraw performed--very entertaining! FUN NIGHT!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend at the Beach

Since Rina was still in town for Thanksgiving, we decided to take her to Malaquite Beach for Thanksgiving weekend. For the end of November, it was a beautiful day -- in the 70's. The water was a little cool, but the kids and Mike still played in it all afternoon. I had a chance to read d0wn by the water and we took a long walk down the beach gathering shells, sea creatures and anything else interesting into our buckets.

Go Jaguars!--Trophy Party

Logan had fun playing football this season with his buddies, especially his friend Cameron. He was excited about the trophy party at the end of the season, and I was happy they all got trophies for participating since we hadn't officially won many games. Logan's team did win their last game, which Mike and I missed because we were in D.C. Go Jaguars!

Bike Rodeo Winners

My two little professional bike riders came away from their bike rodeo at their school with trophies. Makayla got 3rd place for the girls in 4th grade, and Logan got 2nd place of the boys in Kinder. They were both really excited to have done so well, and I was really happy that all our hard work practicing paid off. There is something to say for overachieving parents who draw the bike rodeo course with sidewalk chalk in their cul-de-sac and have their children practice riding their bikes over and over.

This was Makayla's fourth year participating in the bike rodeo, and she has managed to get a trophy three out of the four years.

Fall Family Fun

We had so much fun with Mike's mom, Eileen, and his sister, Rina, when they came to visit and help watch our kids so Mike and I could escape to D.C. Thanks Eileen and Rina! After our trip, we spent the weekend touring the Alamo and River Walk and fishing at Guadalupe River State Park.
