Classic Skating Rocks!

Who would have thought that the highlight of our trip would be White-Trash roller skating with the fam??!  We wanted to do something fun together as a family before we headed home, but with the lack of snow to aid our endeavor, we headed to Classic Skating in hopes of finding a fun last Hurrah.  We were pleasantly surprised in how much fun we all had roller skating.  And I'm not gonna lie . . . the grown-ups might have even enjoyed themselves more than the kids! : )  You be the judge.

Christmas in Utah

Christmas Morning!  Having Christmas on Sunday this year made it extra special.  We woke up bright and early to see what Santa had brought for us at Grandma Jackie's house.  It was especially fun to watch how excited Luke got about all the presents and of course the stockings, and Candy!

Then, it was nice to get dressed up and go to church to celebrate our Savior's birth and the true meaning of Christmas.  We spent a really fun afternoon at my mom's with everyone and enjoyed a delicious Christmas brunch.  However, that evening, Savannah finally caught the nasty flu bug that went through our whole family on our vacation, so she and I stayed home while the rest of our family went to Mike's family's for Christmas dinner.  Lucky for us, we had several other fun family dinners with Mike's family so we didn't miss out completely on the family fun.

Grandma Beth and Grandpa Eleroy came out to Mom's to

celebrate Christmas with us.  I feel very lucky to have them

as Grandparents and to have their wonderful examples in my life.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas . . .

Christmas Eve continued . . .
One of my very favorite traditions on Christmas Eve is to read Twas the Night Before Christmas before our children are "nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums dance in their heads." 

We also always celebrate on Christmas Eve with Dad and Sharon.  We had a yummy lunch that afternoon and opened presents.  Then, the kids got to play with their toys from Grandma and Grandpa.  Luke thought all the shiny paper was more fun than the presents.  He was also fascinated by Grandma Sharon's singing Santa Claus.

Diva Christmas Eve

It is a family tradition to celebrate Christmas Eve with the Wests, on my Mom's side of the family.  We always have a delicious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, followed by the Nativity story and Christmas program.  One understated requirement in attending the evening is you must be dressed to the nines!  I look forward to seeing all my cousins each year, since moving away from home it is one of the only times I get to see them.  I also look forward to the outfits they have created as they are always fabulous!
