Happy Easter!

Grandma coming to visit made this Easter extra special! I love my husband, my children and my family, and I am so thankful for every day I get to spend with them. I am grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ, and his atoning sacrifice making it possible to live forever with my family. What a perfect day--celebrating our Savior!

It's All About the Eggs

New Moon Movie Sneak Peak Tonight on ET

For those of you who need something to look forward to, turn your televisions on tonight to Entertainment Tonight. They are interviewing the cast of New Moon and showing some sneak peaks from the filming of the movie. (ET is continuing it's New Moon special on Friday night as well if you miss it tonight.)

As you may have noticed, I am slightly obsessed with waiting for New Moon to come out in the theaters. I have since finished reading Midnight Sun online and Stephanie Meyer has left me hanging. Her draft ends abruptly and has left me wanting said author to publish her book so I can finish reading Edward's point of view. Do real men really love us as much as Edward loves Bella? I'll leave you with this deep thought to ponder as you patiently wait to turn on your TV tonight. ; )

need I say more . . .

I'll admit it . . .

I'm hooked . . . again.

That Stephanie Meyer is a smart cookie. Just when the intrigue of her books had started to die off, I waited anxiously for the movie. Then, it was the DVD. Now I have been engulfed in her unfinished novel, Midnight Sun, Edward's point of view from Twilight. (you can read it on her website.) I know what you are thinking. This may sound a little obsessive. I'll admit it.

I am just so caught up in the fact that a 30 something graduate from BYU can come up with such a brilliant idea and create such a perfect character. Edward is the epitome of the perfect man . . . oh with one tiny, yet fatal, flaw. Brilliant. Why can't I come up with something like that and write a novel about it? Mike and I have wondered??!

I'll get right on that. Oh . . . wait. I need a really good idea first.

For now I'll just enjoy reading the rest of Midnight Sun.



I am intrigued most with the fact that Midnight Sun seems like a different book entirely, yet still the same. Taking the story from a different point of view makes the Cullen Family's characters come to life. It adds a whole new dimension to Twilight, not to mention all of Edward's obsessing over Bella. It puts you right in his head. Not a bad place to be for an hour while I should be doing laundry, vacuuming, grocery shopping, etc.

Well, there's always tomorrow.

Rampage Birthday!

After Makayla performed at the Rampage game, we had twice the fun celebrating my birthday. We celebrated in style in a courtside box suite, courtesy of Mike's work while enjoying a nutritious dinner of $5 hot dogs and fries and cheering wildly as body checks and slamming into walls began. Go Rampage!



Before the game, Savannah and I had a fun day together while the big kids were at school. She and I hit the 30% off sale at the Gap, tried on lotions and lip gloss at Bath and Body, and met Mike for lunch at Pei Wei. Savannah is my little mini me who loves shopping and trying on different outfits in the dressing room--the girlier the better. She also can't get enough of lotions and potions and was in heaven at Bath and Body. What a fun afternoon!

Drill Team flashback

I have trained my kids right. Check out their moves. The next ice dancers. : )

With such a busy night, it left no time for cake, so we ate Mike's yummy cake right before priesthood session the next night. Mike did a great job on the cake (although I did put it together and ice it.) We tried a new recipe out of the new Kraft magazine, Lemon pudding cool whip cake. Umm. . . I highly recommend it. Yum!

Makayla's ORFfestra Performance

Makayla has recently learned how to play the xylophone, metallophone, recorder and glockenspiel. Why? you ask. She joined her school's 4th and 5th grade orchestra group called ORFfestra. (which was named after the inventor of the xylophone)

For their first performance, they got to play the pre-game show at the Rampage Hockey game last night. We had a double good time because we also got to celebrate my birthday at the game. Makayla did such a good job playing the Soprano Glockenspiel (pictured above) and also the xylophone during the performance. I was really impressed with her ORFfestra group. They memorized all the songs and played all their percussion instruments right together.

As we waited outside the AT&T center, the orchestra practiced for their big night.

Logan and Savannah were anxiously awaiting their big sister perform and watching the Rampage skate circles around their opponents after Makayla's performance.

Here's a little taste of what they sounded like. Sorry about the lighting. Someone should have thought about all the parents trying to take pictures when they decided to have them perform with all the windows behind them. : ) My camera adjusts to the light half way through the clip.

This was my favorite number. For this song, Makayla is playing the xylophone. She is standing behind the music stand.

After the performance, we spent the evening cheering on the Rampage at their hockey game.

What a fun birthday to get to watch my daughter perform! I'm so lucky to have the talented, amazing daughter that I do.
